Equatic designs, develops and commissions, carbon removal plants around the world that will remove atmospheric CO2 by electrolyzing seawater.

Born out of UCLA's Institute for Carbon Management, Equatic's innovative electrolytic process harnesses the vast potential of our oceans to remove atmospheric carbon dioxide, permanently stabilizing it as dissolved bicarbonate ions in seawater and as solid mineral carbonates. This groundbreaking technology not only tackles climate change but also produces clean hydrogen as a co-product, offering both environmental benefits and a source of revenue.

The visual identity of Equatic is meticulously designed to embody the brand's mission of driving positive climate action. Through the use of vibrant gradients that seamlessly blend warm and cool tones, we symbolize the transformative impact that Equatic seeks to achieve with its cutting-edge technology. These gradients serve as a visual metaphor for the company's innovative approach to carbon capture and clean energy production.

By emphasizing the reduction of atmospheric and oceanic CO2 levels, the visual expression reflects a forward-looking identity, grounded in a vision for a sustainable future. The design language is solid, credible, and clear, instilling confidence in Equatic's scientific approach. This is complemented by carefully chosen typography that introduces a human touch to the technological narrative, making complex concepts more accessible and relatable.

Equatic has gained recognition as an emerging leader in carbon capture, with features in prestigious publications, and a place on Time Magazine’s «Best Inventions of 2023»-list. Also, the company has gotten significant funding from actors such as Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and the US Department of Energy’s. This attention from key private, governmental and media institutions, underscores the significance and potential of Equatic's contributions to combating climate change.

The design strikes a delicate balance between portraying natural, clean processes and acknowledging the serious scientific rigor behind Equatic's innovations. The system effectively communicates complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner, leveraging colors that subtly reference the technology's outputs.
