For the launch of Tom Wood’s Tokyo flagship store, a special edition packaging was created, drawing inspiration from Japan’s iconic Hinomaru flag.

The packaging design concept takes inspiration from Japan’s iconic Hinomaru flag, a symbol of the sun rising over the Pacific Ocean. This simple yet powerful imagery is at the heart of the design, aiming to capture the cultural essence of Japan and translate it into a visually compelling and meaningful packaging experience.


The Hinomaru holds deep significance in Japanese culture, representing hope, enlightenment, and the beginning of a new day. Our design seeks to honor this symbolism by creating packaging that reflects Japan’s rich cultural heritage while conveying a sense of optimism and positivity.


To evoke the feeling of the rising sun, the packaging incorporates subtle sunrise imagery through a smooth gradient transition, simulating the awe-inspiring moment when the sun touches the horizon. This element is thoughtfully integrated to enhance the visual appeal and strengthen the connection between the packaging and the product it holds.
