Tom Wood
Nuit et Jour
I think Tokyo is going to sink underwater soon. All those stupid high-rise buildings will sink and maybe all the traffic will be gone. And everything will be peaceful and quiet.
— Hayao Miyazaki
Tom Wood, the Norwegian brand renowned for its functional and timeless jewellery and clothing, entrusted us with the task of developing a visual system to introduce their debut jeans collection. They sought a design approach that would not only embody their meticulous attention to detail but also create a contemporary aesthetic with subtle nods to the classic appeal of jeans.
We crafted a small, portable piece that functions as a narrative journal of the Tokyo photoshoot. The design is thoughtfully divided into two sections: NUIT (Night) and JOUR (Day), each featuring imagery captured at different times of day, with various models, and across distinct locations. Each visual is complemented by the specific address of the location, while the cover cleverly doubles as a postcard pocket, evoking a sense of travel and discovery.
This visual system encapsulates the essence of Tom Wood’s new collection—rugged yet refined, spontaneous yet sophisticated—delivering a contemporary look that resonates with the timeless allure of classic jeans.
