The University of Oslo is Norway's oldest university, and has for over 200 years been one of the Nordic region's leading institutions in research and education. The university consists of eight faculties and two museums.

Background

For 200 years, UiO has been one of the Nordic region's leading institutions in research and dissemination, in addition to being Norway's largest and broadest university. The university is responsible for a large number of faculties, departments, research projects and museums.

Bleed helped UiO update its visual profile, create a comprehensive, clear and user-friendly design system, and designing new websites. The project has clarified the UiO brand and streamlined the design across the university's many units and initiatives.

Creating a flexible and dynamic design system

The new design system gives UiO a clear hierarchy and set of rules to ensure that all digital channels communicate the university's identity and core message in a clear way. At the same time, the system provides space for uniqueness and creative expression at the various institutes, projects and museums.

Holistic approach

The new design will give a holistic expression, and contribute to UiO clearly emerging as a sender in digital surfaces. At the same time, it allows for the uniqueness of the various units. The design is developed to ensure universal design and to fit into various digital surfaces.
